greet the whole class
step 2 revision
1. ask two students to come in front of the class, let students describe them.
show the pictures of persons on page 43, let students describe them.
step 3 presentation
1. show a picture of?wang feng,?present the new words.
wang feng?is a?pop?singer, he has a?beard?and?glasses.
2. read and practice the new words.
3. show some pictures of famous persons (jackie chan, jay chou, liu xiang,? ???????yao ming, etc.). let students describe them.
step 4 practice
1. listening practice
show pictures of?johnny dean?and?tina brown, let students get to know them, then play the tape, let them complete the chart. next, check the answers in class.
2. practice the drills
ask the students to look at the chat(3a), let them ask and answer in pairs.

1. let students work in groups to make a survey. they may ask questions like this:?who is your favorite person? what does he/she do??etc. then make a report.(give students a chat, let them fill in the chat , then use the information to make a short passage.)
