A flexible and reliable digital vehicle instrument system based on in-vehicle network is designed and implemented on a new natural gas city bus. Based on HCS12 embedded processor, the instrument control system adopts modularization design method and can implement rapid development through CodeWarrior software platform and Vspy3 diagnosis platform. The vehicle control system contains an information module and a digital stepper motor panel, which can realize the visual displaying of vehicle running information and the fault diagnosis through bus interface. The instrument system has been proved to be effective and reliable through road driving test. Keyword
