Presentation 1.Use some pictures to teach new words: post, office, post office, police, police station, hotel, restaurant, bank, hospital, street, 2. Use some pictures and “Where” question to teach prepositions of place: in, on, under, behind, next to, in front of ,near. Step 3 1a Read each of the words and phrases. Let students match the words with the place in pictures. Step 4 1b Read the instructions. Play the recording. Ask students to listen and circle the places they hear in 1a. Step 5 1c Let students ask and answer questions about the other places in 1a.Use the new pattern: ---Is there a … near here? ---Yes, there is. It’s in/on/ next to/in front of…. Step 6 2a Let students read the instructions. Have students to match the sentences with the pictures. Write each number in the box. Translate the sentences into Chinese one by one. Step 7 2b Let students read the instruction. Play the recording twice. Let students listen and fill in the blanks with the words in the box. Check the answers.
