Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen 苏州大学外国语学院 英语一班姜曼曼 Main Characters Plot Summary Themes Evaluations 目 录 CONTENTS Elizabeth (Lizzy) Bennet is the core of the family. Elizabeth is the second of Mr. and Mrs. Bennets five daughters. Her main ambition in life is to marry her daughters to wealthy men; whether or not any such matches will give her daughters happiness is of little concern to her. Mrs. Bennet Jane Bennet is the eldest Bennet sister. She is generally considered to be the most beautiful of her sisters. Her character is contrasted with Elizabeths as sweeter, shyer, and equally sensible, but not as clever; her most notable trait is a desire to see only the good in others. Jane Bennet Charles Bingley is a handsome, good-natured, and wealthy young gentleman, who rents Netherfield Park near Longbourn. He is contrasted
