Vermeer (German), is widely used in the translation process. It tries to liberate the translation from the confinement of the source text. The aim is to explain the translation activity from the point of view of the target language. 2 Broke Girls ，a popular American urban melodrama with all-inclusive and abundant content, obviously will not be easy for the Chinese audience to fully comprehend. But the birth of this information carrier—the subtitles for American TV dramas, provides a great convenience for the TV fans. With the help of subtitles, the audience can know the theme, plot, dialogue, even the whole story in a simply way. This paper will explore the translation strategies from the perspective of the Skopos theory, which aims to help subtitle translators to present authentic, original and unique American TV dramas.
