Correspondent: GA O Xian-w en, E-mail: gaox ianwen @ ise. neu. edu. cn) Abstra t: The stripping process in a stripper is characterized b high nonlinearit , large time dela , strong coupling and that the temperature is difficult to control accuratel . A stripper temperature control s stem based on the variable universe fuzz-PID was therefore designed. With the scale factor chosen according to fuzz rules and the concept of variable universe combined w ith fuzz -PID, a variable universe fuzz -PID control s stem w as formed. Then, the three simulation curves of conventional PID algorithm, fuzz -PID algorithm and variable universe fuzz-PID algorithm of the stripper temperature control s stem were compared w ith each other, and the results showed that the variable universe fuzz -PID control algorithm has a shorter response time, smaller overshoot and better tracking performance.
