The studies of patients sexual life quality after total hysterectomy increased in recent years. The influence on the sexual life quality in patients with hysterectomy was controversial in different studies. Some researchers pointed out that hysterectomy produced severe psychological and mental problems because of severe stress reaction, which ultimately affected the rehabilitation of sexual function and reduced the sexual life quality. While other researchers revealed that total hysterectomy relieved patients pain and avoided the menstrual discomfort and pregnancy risk, and it was helpful to improve the sexual life quality. At present there were not related studies in this field in China. In this paper, the authors reviewed the influence of total hysterectomy on sexual life quality of patients.
