AbstractHua Abstract Hua Jian Ji is the poetry works of late Tang and Five Dynasties．The previous academic research on this classical work has always been on its literature value， whereas researchers pay less attention on linguistic studies about it．This paper studies the microscopic semantic features of the verbs in this work．First，this paper extracts the core meaning of the verbs，and analysis the extended context of the verbs in this work．Then it studies the implication of the verbs in the literature context．Finally this paper demonstrates the use of each verb in the same context but in different historical periods．The purpose is to reveal how the core meaning restrains the extended meaning and to analyze the internal mechanism of word meaning evolution． This paper is divided into five parts： The first part：introduction．It mainly includes three aspects．Firstly,it introduces the value and reason of this selected topic．Secondly,it elaborates the research status， including the research situation of Hua Jian’)t，the present research of some verbs in special books，and the research achievement of core meaning．Finally,it explains the research ideas and methods of this paper． The second part：explore the core meaning of verbs in Hua Jian Ji through the original meaning．Core meaning usually develops from original meaning，or from the implied semantic feature of the original meaning．The original meaning is the source for implication，SO most of the core meanings are obtained while original meaning is passing on to the extended meaning． The tllird part：explore the core meaning of the verbs in Hua Jian Ji through the paronym．The original meaning of some words are abstract，which is not easy to judge the core meaning，thus we need to seek help from the research achievements of paronym．The core meaning of the verb Can be accessed through the paronym for they share the same core meaning． The fourth part：to explore the core meaning of the verbs in Hua Jian Ji from the angle of synonym
