In this paper, by two ways of the effects to active ingredients and the active ingredients to mechanism, the antidepressive active ingredients and their mechanism of Xiaoyaosan are summarized. Xiaoyaosan as a classic antidepressant Chinese prescription is further confirmed with many advantages, such as multi-level, multi-channel, multi-target, and so on.
