T he food hoarded by Meriones unguiculatus in the b arns w it h three kinds of h abitat s in Erdosi
deser t - grasslands w ere inv estigated in the perio d of N ov. 1~ 10th , 19 89 . T he result s show ed
( 1) 96 % of the f ood composition in their b arns w er e Cor isp er mum seeds, Tr ibulus ter r estr is seeds
and Bassia dasyp hylla; ( 2) T he annual seed plant s of Chenopodiacase w as f avor ite f ood of M . u
niguiculatus . T here w ere dense population of M . uniguiculatus and more b arns and f ood stocked in
habitat . ( 3) T he cor relat ion betw een the population of M . unig uiculatus and it s b arn numbers
w as positive ( P 0 . 001) , the regressio n equ ation w as ( barn number) = 0 . 3443+ 0 . 122 8( den sit y
o f M . unig uiculatus) ; and ( 4) T here w ere no signif icant diff erence of the barn volumns among
three kind habitat s ( P 0 . 10) .
