of Mosla d ianthera Maxim Grown in Fuj ian Province.

Abstract: The chemical components of the volatile oil from M osl a d ianthe ra
Maxim. have been studied by means of the GC/ MS/ DS. Thirty nine con-
stituents have been identified from forty three separated peaks.The major com-
ponents are thymol ( 37. 15%) , carvacrol ( 14. 85%) , caryophyllene(5.75%) ,
linalool ( 5. 40%) , santalene( 4. 12%) , humulene ( 3. 61%) , sabonil ( 2. 87%)
etc. The major components make up to 98. 40% of total oils. T he content of
each constituent was determined by area normalization method.
