The results showed that BMP7 protei w as ot expressed i prmi ordial or prmi ary follicles. I stead, it w as fou d i both oocytes of seco dary follicles a d all cells of a tral follicles. It was also detected i i terstitial cells, corpo- ra lutea a d ovaria surface epithelial cells. These suggested that BMP7 did ot take part i the activatio of a dorm a t prmi ord ial follicle, but p layed a role i the prmi ary/ seco dary tra sitio a d i the follow i g m aturatio of follicles.
