It can perceive the motion information of measured object, and convert the information to electrical signals or other information to meet the requests of transmission, processing, storage, display, record and control. So it is widely used in mechanical, chemical, transportation, automatic control, military, automotive ABS, wheel speed and engine speed control. Pulse-output speed sensor is a magnetic-electric speed sensor, based on the principle of electromagnetic induction to achieve the velocity measurement. When measured object gear or gear plate rotates, the magnetic field and magnetic flux inside the sensors will change, which can induce electromotive force inside the sensor coils. The induced voltage signal is output in pulse form. By handling the pulse signal, the speed of measured object can be got. This paper discusses the working principle and system design of the pulse-output speed sensor in detail. The design includes the overall design, circuit design, structural design, preparation process, signal conditioning circuit design, the simulation analysis and parameter optimization by Ansoft and so on. Based on the above research, three prototypes been processed.
