Abstract :In fermentationprocessofStreptomycesaureofacienswithstarchasmain carbon source, enzy-
molysisproductsbyextracellular amylasewhichwassecreted byStreptomycesaureofacienscellwereana-
lyzed in this paper, and disaccharidewas themain fermentablecarbohydratein both.Activity of extra-
cellular amylaseand utilization rateof carbon sourcewas couplingwith cellgrowth in fermentationpro-
cess, and theactivity of amylase and utilization rateof carbon source reachedmaximum in exponential

growth phase, whichwere0.12g·L ·min and2.4g·L ·h separately.Therewas noobviousef-
fectof concentrationsofextracellular polysaccharide on activity of amylase, composition ofenzymolysis
productand biosynthesis rateof chlortetracycline.
