Step 1 Warm-up and revision
Do a guessing game about clock and answer the question:
--What can a clock do? -- It can tell us time.
Step 2 Ask about the times
Do you know how to ask the time?询问时间句型:几点了What time is it?=What is the time?
Present how to express time in English
Summarize the methods and practice
(1).整点用o’clock
(2).分钟恰在半点上: half+past+点钟/顺读法: “钟点+分钟”
(3).分钟在半点以内的: 分钟+past+点钟/顺读法: “钟点+分钟”
(4)分钟超过半点的:分钟+to+点钟(差几分到几点)/顺读法: “钟点+分钟”
Step3 New drills
1. Show the pictures and let them to say:What does he do?
If they cannot say, let them say in Chinese. Show the English of the action: get up…Do the others one by one in the same way.
2. To the class: What time does he get up? To show the sentences and read.
Step 4 Work on 1a
1. Match the activities with the pictures.
2. Check the answers.
Step 5 Work on 1b
Listen to the tape.
First, write the time beside the action and the clock.
Then, listen to the tape and draw lines from the clocks to the pictures.
Last, check the answer.
Step 6 Work on 1c
Student A is the interviewer. Student B is Rick. Ask and answer questions about Rick’s day.
