The resultsshowed that the cuticular cell of slenderizing yak hair became longer andthinner, the scales of yak fibers were stretched and their height were increased, the section of the slenderizedyak hair was elliptic, the diameter decreased obviously. During the process of stretching, the medullary cavum became compact, and some crack of cortex cells coalesced, the size of crystal became smaller, the densityof fiber increased, thedensity of fiberwasincreasedby 4%. Allofthesefactorsmadethe actual rateof slenderizing exceedthe theoretic rate of slenderizing after stretching and slenderizing treatment.
