AbstractAs Abstract As people are metabolizing and things ate renewing,old buildings’rehabilitation is one of the means by which human utilize and develop buildings’resources．In order to utilize buildings’resources existed and to maintain their material functions，people recover buildings．Recent years，the old buildings’rehabilitation blooms in our country and at the same time，an sorts of theories come in to existing towards old buildings’ rehabilitation and come to good results．However there are still problems，such as： ignoring the communication between buildings and human，resources wasting which comes from construction at large scale， being short of connotation， and not corresponding local cultural atmosphere．The paper tries to regard and analyze the problem of old buildings’rehabilitation in cities at a completely new sight and as a result to find a feasible way． The paper analyze the problem of old buildings’rehabilitation at the sight of Architectural Semiology．It bases on the rehabilitative project of Dengzhou Road in Oingdao and analyzes Architectural Semiology’S features and it’S effects，measures and results in old buildings’rehabilitation，combining with the experience and investigation in old buildings’rehabilitation all over the world． Firstly,the paper points out the process，actuality and problem be faced of at present of old buildings’rehabilitation in our country． Secondly,the paper utilizes Architectural Semiology as a measure to solve the problem．It deeply analyzes the features of Architectural Semiology and the relationship between architectural symbols and architecture design．It is just the relationship that makes it possible to apply Architectural Semiology into architectural practice． Thirdly,comes the main chapter of the paper．It expounds some simple rules and design measures of Architectural Semiology in old buildings’rehabilitation．As a result， a good effect in directing design practice would be expected． At last，the paper explains a design pract
