Poe’s works and his creative ideas have made a deep influence on the American literary arena or even the world literature. The glamour of horror is the most important reflection of his literary achievement. Compared to other Gothic writers, Poe deepens the connotation of Gothicism by exploring the themes of death, guilt, revenge, incest and morbid psyche in his tales. Poe’s Gothic fictions win him the eternal position in the literary world of all ages and his works have influence numerous of writers internationally. This thesis is divided into four parts, the first part is an introduction, which provides a general account of Poe’s life story, his famous short fiction The Cask of Amontillado and the evaluations about Poe and his works from home and abroad. The second part gives the detailed information of the origin of Gothicism and the typical features of it. The third part analyses the reflection of Gothic style in The Cask of Amontillado, and how Poe creates a grotesque and horrible world for his readers. The last part summarizes Poe’s influence and his contribution to the American or even the world literary arena. Key words: Gothicism; grotesquery; horror 摘 要 作为19世纪哥特小说家的典型代表之一，埃德加爱伦坡在美国文学发展史上产生过相当广泛的国际影响且占有无人能及的地位。他的作品和创造性思想深深影响着美国文学界，甚至影响了世界文学的发展。其小说所展现的恐怖魅力是他文学成就的重要体现。与其他哥特小说家相比，爱伦坡通过揭露死亡主题，罪恶，复仇，乱伦，变态心理更加深刻的阐述了哥特主义，体现出其作品的恐怖魅力。爱伦坡的哥特短篇小说成就了他在文学史上永恒的显著地位，他的作品影响了国内外无数作家。 本文由四个部分构成。引言部分主要简单介绍了爱伦坡的生平与他的著作《一桶阿芒提拉多白葡萄酒》以及国内外对爱伦坡及其作品的评价。第二章详细阐述了哥特式文学的来源与爱伦坡作品中哥特风格的特点。第三章详细论述了在爱伦坡的经典小说《一桶阿芒提拉多白葡萄酒》中哥特风格的体现,以及爱伦坡如何为读者描绘出一个怪诞恐怖的世界。最后一部分是对本论文的总结，总结概括了爱伦坡对美国文坛乃至整个世界文坛的影响以及贡献。 关键词：哥特式；怪诞；恐怖 Contents Abstract 摘 要 TOC
