Resolutions are promises to ourselves. They can help to make us better persons. This class, let’s learn how to make New Year’s resolutions. Step Ⅲ .Pre-writing T:First, let’s read the article and complete it by yourselves. Who can tell us your answer? (A minute later) Check the answers, then let the students read it again and find out the answers.(pay attention to what to do ,how to do that and why to do that) T:When we write resolutions , we should write down what to do , how to do it and why to do it. Step Ⅳ. While-writing T: People usually make resolutions about improving physical health , improving relationships with family and friends, and doing better at school. Before writing ,let’s discuss and write down the key words. First ,Ss discuss in groups .Then show their ideas with “I’m going to …” The teacher writes the phrases on the Bb. Next , lead the students to think about the beginnings and the endings .Then show them to the class. Then let them pay attention to the middle part. Give students an example . And then ask students to write. (Ss write their New Year’s resolutions for about 13 minutes.) Sep Ⅴ.
