Step 1: organization
Greet the class . then ask the students to write down five sentences
About what is important in a good friend. Then ask some of them to read them to the class.
Step 2: presentation
learn the new words.
Read the new words to the class and ask them repeat.
Activity 3a
(1)read the article and get them to answer the following questions:
who is smarter than Yuan Li?
Is larry taller and more outgoing than James?
Who is Carol’s best friend?
Who doesn’t think differences are important in a friendship?
(2) Then ask the students to read the article themselves complete the task:underline all words that describle what people are like. Then check the answer.
Step3:practice
let the students look at the chart in activity 2a on page34.
Activity 3b.Read the sample sentences to the class. Ask them to use them as a modle.Write some sentences about Holly’s friend and Maria’s friend on the paper and read them out .
Step4: writing
Come to Activity 3c. Help the students find some of words and phrases they can use in this unit. Write them on the Bb.eg:tall,short ,thin,heavy,athletic…..Tell them write some things that are the same and different between you and your friend.
Step5:Homework
Write a passage about what kind of friend you want.
