Lead-in. Listen to a song called “ The more we get together, the happier we’ll be”. Step4. Learning.(Read in groups) Show a picture of Liu Xiang and Pan Changjiang and learn : Liu Xiang is taller than Pan Changjiang. Pan Changjiang is shorter than Liu Xiang. Before learning, read the rules together. The students read together. Then ask one group to read them out. Show another three pictures and lead them to learn: Mike is more outgoing than Lucy./Lucy is quieter than Mike. Zhao Liying is thinner than Han Hong./Han Hong is heavier than Zhao Liying. Fan Bingbing has longer hair than Zhang Shaohan. Zhang Shaohan has shorter hair than Fan Bingbing . First, read together. Then read in groups. Step5. 1a. First get the students to match the word with its opposite. Ask a student to say out the answers. Read together. Step6. 1b. Find three pairs of twins out. Read the names together. Then play the tape for them. Before listening, lead them to know what to listen and how to listen. Then check the answers. Step7. 1c.(group game) Read the conversation after the teacher and point out “sings more loudly”. Then read together. Read in pairs for 5 minutes. Ask a pair to act it out. Step8. Compare people.(group game) Ask two students to come to the front. Ask the other students to compare them. Step9.
