(五)Teaching procedures:
Step1.Warming up and leading-in :
1.Warming up: By greeting
T: Good morning, boys and girls.
2. Leading-in: look at some pictures and talk about jobs.:
---What is his/her job? ----His/Her job is…
─ What are you going to be? ─ I am going to be….
Step2. Presentation
1. Learn the new words: Computer programmer, cook, engineer, violinist, pianist, pilot, scientist,…
2. Invite students to read the new words together.
3. Tell students to rank them [1-12]. 1 is most interesting, 12 is least interesting.
4. Try to remember the new words.
Step3. Group work (according to the pictures, let’s talk about their favorite job)
Ask and answer using the target language:
A: What are you going to be when you grow up?
B: I’m going to be a/an…
(Divide the whole class into two groups, boys as a group and girls as a group)
Step4. Listening
Listen to the tape to finish 1b, 2a and 2b. And then check the answers.
Step5. A game (guess what he/she is going to be when he/she grow up)
Step6: Presentation: Role-play 2d
Practice the dialogue about jobs by using the simple future tense.
Step7. Pair work (talk about their dreams)
1. Let students read the model with a partner.
2. Invite some pairs to role play the conversation.
3. Then give students several minutes to make their own conversat
