A b stract: Th is exp erim en t wa s conducted in the demon stration ba se s of p ecan in J iande, Zhej iang Province, wh ich
m ain ly studied on the grow th of p ecan seedlings under variou s water stre sse s. The re su lts were a s fo llow s: the
indexe s of tree heigh t, root d iam eter, root length , root su rface area and root vo lum e and so on were differen t
sign ifican tly under variou s water stre sse s. That wa s, w ith the water stre ss being heavier, all the se indexe s app eared
a declin ing trend; and if it wa s rewatered in the fo llow ing p roce ss, all the se indexe s wou ld grow , bu t the indexe s of
root length , root su rface area and root vo lum e changed w ith the con tro l. In addition , the p ro line c
