Teaching aims:
1.To develop students’ability of getting information from the passage by reading training.
2.Tell a story.
3.To develop students’ sprits of helping each other in danger.
Teaching contents:
1.Key words:
storm ,report,area,wind,light,wood,window,flashlight,matchbeat,heavily,against.asleep,rise,apart
2.Key phrases:
in the neighbourhood, make sure, pieces of, fall asleep,
die down, in a mess, fallen trees, broken windows.
3.Key sentences:
(1) Black clouds were making the sky very dark.
(2) With no light outside, it felt like midnight.
(3) It was hard to have fun with a serious storm outside.
(4) He finally fell asleep when the wind was dying down at around 3:00 a.m.
(5) Although the storm broke many things apart, it brought families and neighbours closer together.

Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Lead-in.
Teacher: It often rains heavily in some places.Now look at the pictures and answer the question: what happened?
Teacher:Yes. Now let’s read about another storm .
Step2. Presentation
1.Let students look at the picture and the title of 3a to predict the content.
2.Learn the new words.
Step 3 Reading(3a)
1.Look through the passage and answer the following questions:
Were winds strong or weak ?(Strong.)
Were clouds black or white ?(Black.)
Was the sky dark or bright ?(Dark.)
Did neighbors stay inside or clean up outside?(Cleaned up outside.)
How was the neighbor after the storm?(In a mess.)
How were the windows ?(Broken.)
Where were the rubbish ?(Everywhere.)
2. Listen to the passage and answer the following questions
