Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came? 第四课时 阅读课 1、设计人 2、教材 人教版 八年级 3、教学设计 （1）学情分析 这是一节阅读课。文章借助过去进行时态讲叙了2个过去发生的故事：马丁路德金被谋杀和世贸大厦被袭击。对于初二的孩子们来说，他们刚学习过去进行时态，无法很好的掌握和运用，仍需要学习和巩固。同时，文章中的这两件事情与他们距离太远，他们无法切身体会到当时的心境，需要老师渗透文化背景教育以帮助学生更好的理解文章。由于孩子们阅历尚浅，他们很少经历过类似的事情因此无法表达出相关的东西。因此，老师需要引导学生以身边的事情或者新闻为题材，拓宽思路。 （2）教材分析和整合 本节课的重点是借助各种阅读技巧理解文章并进行相关的表达。在教学方面，教者做了以下整合：1、增加音乐和视频和图片材料作为输入的素材，让学生在愉快的气氛中学习本节课的重点知识。2、由于文章大量运用了过去进行时态，教者在引导学生阅读文章前加入了用过去进行时态对话的环节，起到承上启下的作用。3、为了改变阅读课一般比较沉闷的现状，教者把文章2d 的练习题改造成游戏竞赛的形式，吸引学生的兴趣，活跃课堂气氛。4、以2b的文章为载体，引导学生联系自己的实际生活，讲述类似的事情，表达自身的感受。为了帮助学生更好的完成任务，教者引导学生用填表格的形式先把事情发生的时间、地点等要素写出来，再有条理地用过去进行时态讲述事件的整个过程。 （3）教学安排 本节阅读课为整个单元的第四课时。本单元的主题是借助各种阅读技巧理解文章并进行相关的表达。 （4）教学目标 1. Understand the words. --- passage, pupil, completely, shocked, in silence, recently, take down, terrorist, date, tower. 2. Get some information from the passage with the help of some reading skills. ---skimming, predicting, scanning and guessing the meaning of the words 3. Learn to talk about past events and cultivate an optimistic attitude towards the terrible experiences. 4、教学要求 A computer for multimedia use, a projector, a blackboard and some learning plans for students. 5、教学过程 = 1 \* ROMAN I. Before-reading (1) Warming-up Look at some pictures and answer the questions. --- Ss review the questions and statements with the past progressive tense. (2) Pair–work Talk about the heaviest rainstorm they have met. --- Ss learn to use the structures in their daily life. = 2 \* ROMAN II. While-reading (1) Skimming Read Paragraph Two and Four, then complete the sentences. --- Ss try to get some information about the two paragraphs by skimming the passage. (2) Predicting Look at the two pictures and predict. --- Ss try to predict something about Dr. King and the World (3) Scanning Scan the passage and finish the exercises in 2C. --- Ss try to understand more about the passage by scanning the passage.
