Base on it the thesis studies the function of the engine system and explores the working procedure of the virtual reality system which meets the standard of establishing landscape engineering and chooses the 3D simulation of environment. This realizes the bringing of the virtual reality system in landscape design. The virtual reality technology mainly provides the environment of 3D image which could reflect the changing and interaction of the operational objects in the method of analog simulation. This composes the virtual world and provides the 3D medium for the customer and virtual world and makes people feel in the scene. Its main character is integrality and immersion. The Spatial interaction technology is the main technology which is to support it. It’s also the most direct method to express the landscape design. The study on the application of platform of virtual reality in landscape design strictly follows the designing standard and demands in project. It is the real appearance of planning project and many designing defects could be found easily. It also could speed up the process of design. V reality system is not only the demonstrating medium but also the designing system. It reflects the thought of the designer in visual way. The designer could change the observation point in the scene at will, survey the effect and modify it constantly. Last, the research could apply in the network and multi-media. This spread the information more convenient and efficient. Engineer and public could see the real effect from any way and make people understand the designer better.
