Abstract Abstract 万方数据 万方数据 The thought of information reform and the upgrading of traditional industries is the specific embodiment of water conservancy informatization in water conservancy industry. With the accelerated process of the water industry information, the water industry start to pay more attention to the Virtual reality technology.The virtual reality technology is a new information technology; it combines image processing, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, multi-media technology, sensors, networks, and parallel processing technology, the latest developments of the multiple IT. It is characterized by an artificial virtual environment generated by the computer; this virtual environment is a three-dimensional space through the computer, allowing the user to feel immersed in a virtual environment in a variety of sensory. Hydraulic virtual simulation contains the function of three-dimensional visualization, informatization , analog simulation and so on. Combined with the operating state monitoring of the bulb tubular unit of Xinglong water conservancy project hydropower station, this paper applies the 3D simulation and virtual reality technology into the 3D simulation system of hydropower station. This paper uses CAD, CATIA and other three-dimensional modeling software to create the models of hydropower plant and hydroelectric generating set, and constructs the virtual scene combined with the 3D engine Unity3D.The management of the unit database uses database management system for SQL Server2008 that is multi-user database management software specially designed for C/S environment. The database connects through the platform of virtual environments and realizes the data query. The development of hydropower station 3D simulation system creates the virtual environment of hydropower plant, and achieves the functions of the interactive roaming of plant, the interactive control of the process of hydro generating unit, the interactive query of monitoring
