ABSTRACTIn ABSTRACT In this Paper，the materials suitable for the optical fiber connector ferrule were systematically studied for the first time．The properties ofdomestic and imported ZrO， materials were investigated comparatively,and also for the first time，the Li20—A1203一SiP2 glass-ceramic materials used for the optical fiber ferrule were studied throu【gh powder sintering method．The results showed tIlat the properties of ZrO， ceramics were related to the original partial size and{ts distribution．as well the constitution ofcrystal phase ofthe Zr02 powder．For the Y—TZP ceramics，containing hi曲tetragonal Zr02 as possible in the Zr02 powder was beneficial for improving the strength of Zr02 samples，because it may decrease the phase deformation during sintering．The main reasons resulting in the property differences between domestic ZrO， and imported Zr02 ceramics were the grain size and crystal phase constitution differences of Zr02 powders．The sintering temperatures and thermal expansion coefficients ofthe Zr02 ceramics with LAS glass additives were lowered，comoared with the zr02 ceramics，and the Iower sintering temperature was beneficial to forming finer micstructure in the materials．which was useful to prohibit the phase transformation under the ferrule processing and further to improve the low-temperature ageing of the materials and their matching to the optical fiber；Glass-ceramics can be produced by sintering and crystallization of glass powder．This method has many advantages，such simple process，10w equipment investment，low cost and easy operation，et a1．Winl this method，it is necessary to introduce nucleating agents for preparing the glass-ceramic， because the crystallization originated from the surface ofthe glass powder,and the glass powder have larger specific surface，which made the crystallization easier．For LAS glass．ceramics，even if t11ey have the same main crystal phase B-spodumene s．s．，their properties．such as nexuraI strollgths and thermal expansion toe伍cie
