Hydrologic scali g is the hotspot a d fro tier of today! s hydrologic research,w hich i cludes three differe t mea
i gs disti guished from each other, i. e. , process scale, observatio scale a d modelli g scale.As a characteristic of
hydrologic scale, domi a t process scale has bee paid more atte t io . Hydrologic scali g i cludes the scali g of
hydrologic models, parameters, state variables a d i puts,w hich ow s special research methods respectively. The
difficulty of hydrologic scali g mai ly comes from the orga ized complexity of hydrologic systems, the hetero
ge eity a d variability i space a d time, a d the i sufficie cy of data. The ubiquitous selfsimilarity of atural
river etworks makes itself a importa t part of hydrologic scali g research. T he combi atio of various tech
iques a d theories is eeded to motivate hydrologic scali g research.
