Unit 2 How often do you exercise?
第1课时Section A 1a-2c
Teaching and learning Goals:
功能: talk about how often you do things.
词汇和常用表达:Learn to use “how often, hardly ever ,once a day etc”
文化知识: Learn how to make conversations with “how often”in a true situation.
Teaching and learning steps:
Step1 lead in
Talk about your own free time activities and lead the students to make conversations.
T: Morning, boys and girls. I always have a busy and happy weekend. What do I usually do on weekends? I often ...
Then to the students: What do you often do on weekends?
Ask 3-4students to answer the teacher’s question using“I often...”.
Students ask and answer in pairs in 1 minute. Then 4-5 pairs present their conversations to the class.
(设计意图:在这一环节的学习中,以“weekend activity”为话题展开师生、生生之间的交流,从而激活学生已有的一些有关业余活动的词汇,为以下环节的学习做好知识上的铺垫及心理上的准备。)
Step2 Learn new words:
housework, hardly, ever, hardly ever, once, twice, Internet, program, full, swing, swing dance
Look at the picture in 1a and make a list of the weekend activities.
Then check the answers in pairs or groups.
(设计意图:通过对1a的处理,使学生更加熟悉一些短语,这样也为后面的对话提供了素材。)
Step 3Practice (1a﹠1c)
What do you often do on weekends? Now let look at Page 9
1a: Ask the students to look at the picture on page9 and complete 1a individually. Then check the answers in pairs or groups.
1c: The students look at the picture again, the teacher with one or two students, makes a model conversation like this:
-What do you do on weekends?-I usually watch TV.
-Do you go shopping?-No, I never go shopping.
Then the students do a pair work, make their conversations to talk about the people in the picture. As they talk , the teacher moves around and offers language or pronunciation support as needed
After the pair work, 3-5 pairs present their conversations to the class.
(设计意图:利用Section A的情景图,学生围绕目标语言做相应的语言实践活动,从而对所学目标语言有了进一步的了解,并在老师和同学们的帮助下学习运用目标语言进行初步交流。)
Step4. 1b
Listen and write the activities next to the correct frequency words.
Play the tape for the students to liste
