Step 1 Warm-up and Lead-in
Greetings
T: Hi! Boys and girls.I’m happy to see you again. Welcome back. Today we will learn something new—Unit 4.
Lead-in
Show a picture of Lujiang on the PPT and ask students something about it.(Where is it? Do you think it’s beautiful?)
T: You know, now we are building a civilized city. Every one of us is trying to do something to make our hometown-Lujiang more beautiful and more attractive. So our hometown has changed a lot in the last few months. Have you noticed the changes around us? (guide the Ss to say some changes). In this unit, we will learn to talk about how people or things have changed.
Step 2 Presentation
Show some photos to the students and lead them to describe people’s appearance and personality.
Show three sets of photos of famous people. Each set has two photos. One taken in the past, and the other one taken now. Help students to say the changes between the two pictures. At the same time, present the target language “He/She used to...”. Tell students that we can use this target language to talk about how people or things have changed.
Ask students to take out their old photos and talk about how they have changed.
