Languages are speciesspecific, which on the one hand is conducive to L2 vocabulary acquisition and also hinders the use ofL2 vocabulary. Learners should be aware that language distance is both a linguistic phenomenon and a psychological one. W ord is the basic unit in English language and Zi is the basic unit in Chinese, which cause language transfer in L2 vocabulary acquisition. The contrast ofL1 and L2 helps the learners to understand the essence ofL2 vocabulary acquisition.
