The results showed that hydrophile-lypophile balance(HLB) values could be used as the design basis to determ inemono- mer ratios in the polymeric surfactants,HLB value of terpene-resins in this study was 13. Solventwas used to decrease melting temperature and tmi e of the resin during emulsification. The structures and amounts of the polymeric surfac- tants influenced greatly the emulsification results. The polymeric surfactantwithmass ratio of styrene, acrylam ide and monomer 3 atmass ratio 10. 60. 2was a good emulsifier for the terpene resins( T-90, T-100, T-110).
