The land is a long poem ,which was praised as one of the most beautiful bucolic in English literature .Divided into four sections according to the four seasons .The Land describe the selfless toil of ploughmen, craftsmen, beekeepers and shepherds, and sonorous evocations of the cultivated landscape and its wildlife. The land The Garden was written intermittently during the Second World War and was not published until 1946. While following the same seasonal structure as The Land, it is a much more personal, symbolic poem, expressing a troubled fascination with the beauty of Natures seasons overshadowed by strife and death.
