万方数据   Abstract    Abstract The Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) is becoming more and more popular for its rich spectrum resource, easy deployment, strong flexibility and many other advantages. However, the WLAN adopts the contention-based random channel access mechanism, which cannot guarantee the Quality of Service (QoS). As a result, the QoS is one of the critical issues in the development of the WLAN. Access control is a direct and effective means to enhance the QoS, facing the challenge of how to accurately estimate the QoS of each connection if the new connection established and then determine whether to allow the establishment of the new connection. In addition, the performance of mobility management mechanism will affect the ability of WLAN providing the QoS guarantee, but there are obvious disadvantages in the existing mobility management mechanisms. Therefore, this thesis studies the admission control scheme and the mobility management scheme in the WLAN as follows, Firstly, considering the effect of the traffic flows and transmission rate diversity on the estimation of the QoS and the randomness of the QoS of the WLAN subscribers, we develop an accurate model to analyze the packet delay. After that, we propose an access control scheme for mixed traffic with QoS guarantee, and this scheme considers the randomness of the packet delay while designing the access
