T he natural halophilous vegetation on the islands o Zhejiang province can be divided into 3 veg eta
tion types, i. e. 1. Halophilous bush , 2 . Halophilous meadow , and 3. Halophilous marsh ; 8 or ma
tion groups; and 26 ormations w hich including 8 annual communities. I n this paper , the ecologi
cal enviro nment , distr ibution, physiog nomy, structur e, and composit ion o main ormations are
descr ibed. Finally, some view s about ex plo itation, utilization , and pr otection ar e adv anced .
