Education as the basic culture transmitted way, has a stable role in every country’s development with the fast development of the society, especially we joined in the WTO, the fast development of the science and technology. We communicate with other countries more and more. So we had the higher requirement of talent especially English ability. Since we join in the WTO, due to introducing the foreign investment and taking in different culture. the Chinese economical status in the word increases gradually, Chinese has more opportunity to cooperate with other country, So Chinese English ability become more and more importance. However, The Chinese traditional teaching pattern is the cramming method, which pays no attention to students’ creation. The students just learn the language mechanically. They only remember the key points of language and cannot use them flexibly in the actual situation. However, English is a kind of language. The aim to learn English is not only to remember its grammar, but to use English as a tool to communicate with others. But, most of the Chinese English teachers still adopt the traditional teaching pattern to teach English. This is unscientific and strongly affects the training of talents. General speaking, Chinese’ international environment has changed, our teaching style also should be changed. We should change our educational system and the teachers themselves and students also should take on some responsibilities. II. The Major Types of Traditional Teaching? A. The Grammar–Translation Method The Grammar–Translation Method is the Chinese traditional English teaching. It has had different names, but it has been used by language teachers for many years.
