Abstract: Ericerus pela Chavanness is an mi portant resource insect w ith econom ic value. The white w ax excreted by nd 2 larvae ofEriceruspela is one of mi portant raw materialswhich is w idely applied in the som e chem ical industries. In th is paper, the wax excretion ofEricerus pela was analyzed for its mi pact of ecological factors. The result showed that Ericerus p ela could excretewax, develop norm ally and fin ish its life cycle w ithin sustained temperatures ranging bewt een 15e to 25e . W hen the temperature exceeds 30e , E ricerusp ela can excretewax, but the excretedw ax amount is low. M ost of the larvae population dies at the end of the 2nd instar, therefore, the insect can not develop norm ally, nor can it pupa
