He is a famous litterateur, thinker and plays a decisive role in the history of Chinese modern literature. His literary contribution lies not only in the creation of“Meiwen” and “pen prose literature”, but also on the literary criticism. His literary criticism was characterised the modern western thought, namely to “people” concern. Even the perspective of his literary criticism has changed, it still died not deviate from the point of view of human nature. Chou Tso-Jen’s literary criticism is full of tension and full of a variety of elements. It seems that stultify oneself place, in fact it is the process of deepening and fusion of the literary criticism. With the profounding implication and colorful personality, his literary criticism has become an independent part in the modern history of Chinese literary criticism. In this paper, it starts from the different aspects of Chou Tso-Jen’s literature criticism, explores its tension and personality and the contribution of literary criticism in twentieth century.
