Institute of Plasma Physics , Chinese Academy of Sciences , Hfe ei 230031, China) Abstract The watercooling circuit wa de igned for the equatorial diagno tic port plug ( EPP) , dedicated to Inter national Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor ( ITER) . The tructural de ign of the watercooling circuit took full con id eration of the influencing factor : uch a the hielding of radiation and electromagnetic irradiation, it reliability, and fab rication fea ibility.The water cooling wa imulated with the oftware package Fluent, to evaluate the water flow rate, pre ure, and temperature di tribution for the purpo e of tructure optimization of the water cooling circuit. The imulated and te t re ult how that the water cooling circuit doe a good job. It i capable of balancing 34 kW heat load of the port, o riginated from pla ma radiation, alleviating the impact of heat radiated from the pla ma on all kind of the diagno tic e tup , and ea ing the fabrication difficultie .Mo t importantly,the prototyped water cooling circuit provided uff icient infor mation for the de ign of ITER equat
