中南民族大学英语语言文学专业本科培养方案 （Undergraduate Program for Specialty in English Language and Literature, SCUN） 1. 培养目标（Educational Objectives） 英语语言文学专业培养具有扎实的英语语言基础和比较广泛的科学文化知识，具有较强的实际交际能力、一定的科研能力和创新精神，以及良好的道德文化修养，能在外事、经贸、教育、文化、科研、旅游等部门从事翻译、研究、教学、管理工作的英语专门人才，同时也为学生将来进入本专业或其它专业的研究生阶段的学习打下良好的基础。 Specialty in English Language and Literature is designed to cultivate students to be competent and knowledgeable in English language and literature and other fields. They will be developed into creative and innovative talents with proficient social communication skills, excellent ethics, and a deep understanding of oneself and respect for others. Graduates are likely to find jobs in foreign affairs, foreign trade, education, research, tourism, technology and other sectors. This program will also lay a solid foundation for the students to pursue their M.A in English and other programs. 2. 培养要求及特色（Requirements and Features） 英语语言文学专业学生主要学习英语语言学及文学、历史、政治、经济、社会文化等方面的基本理论和基本知识，受到听、说、读、写、译等方面熟巧的训练，培养批判思维方式和创新思维能力，掌握一定的科研方法和一门第二外国语言语言，具有从事翻译、研究、教学、管理工作的业务水平及较好的人文素质和较强跨文化交际能力。 This program: teaches students to acquire the basic theories and knowledge in English linguistics, literature, history, politics, economy, society and culture; develop their proficient skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation and interpreting; cultivates their critical thinking and creative thinking through instruction in rhetoric, logic, communication skills help them to master scientific research methods and another foreign language; enables them to be competent in translation, education, research, and administration through a variety of courses; equips them with excellent ethical and aesthetical qualities; and raises their awareness of cross-cultural communication. 3. 学制与学位（Length of Schooling and Degree） 修业年限：四年 Length of schooling: 4 years 授予学位：文学学士 Degree: Bachelor of Arts 4. 主干学科（Major Discipline） 英语语言文学 English Language and Literature 5. 主要课程（Main Courses） 综合英语Comprehensive English听力技能训练
