International practice demonstrates that the employment of the handicapped could be promoted by proper policies. An introduction of the employment policy of the handicapped in developed countries and regions is made in this paper and it is found that the main aspects of these policies are the following three: income support, employment plan and recovery plan. By comparing employment policies and measures taken in these countries and regions, policies on promoting the employment of the handicapped in China are suggested, including establishing recovery program, changing employers view to the handicapped and enacting special laws of the handicapper s employment.
