Confucius——A most famous person in Chinese history Confucius is a great educator and thinker in Chinese history.Born in the village of Zou in the country of Lu in 551 B.C,he is well known for his own ethics with “benevolence” as the core.His wide range of philosophy in education and Confucianism,as well as his students,make him one of the most remarkable men in ancient times. Confucius set up the first private school in China,enrolling and educating the students from everywhere.He came up with a wise education theory,that is,“In teaching people,there is no discrimination.”,which broke the long-standing situation of aristocratic education.He also made many wise saying in ancient China that helped many people learn about nature,the world,and the human behavior.It’s said that he had 3000 students and he led some of them to visit various states to propagate his thoughts.Among all of his students,72 people became the famous scholars,like Yan Hui and Zhong You ,who help develop the Confucianism in some extent.Confucius’s views and dialogues with his students were collected and compiled into Analects,which has been read through all ages.Since the Han Dynasty,Confucianism and Analects has predominated the traditional Chinese culture for more than 2000 years and made a far-reaching impact. Right now,you may notice that there are lots of Confucius schools all over the world.No one can deny the fact that Confucius has a significant influence in the world,especially in Japan and Korea.In modern society, the government also attributes the establishment of harmonious society to the Confucianism .Though with more than 2000 years going by,there is no doubt that Confucius has established himself as one of the most remarkable educator and thinker of the whole Chinese history.
