* Slide 24 Baseline Characteristics This table shows the baseline clinical characteristics in all 12 564 patients randomized into CURE. The mean age is 64.2 years and 38.5% of the patients are female. Patients were randomized after a mean duration of symptoms of 14.1 hours. A large proportion of patients had a previous history of ischemic events (MI, stroke, PCI). The population was therefore representative of unstable angina and non-Q-wave MI patients.
