第四章　冠词 【复习要求】 　　掌握冠词的基本用法。 【知识要点】 冠词是虚词，本身不能单独使用，也没有词义，它用在名词的前面，帮助指明名词的含义。冠词有两种，定冠词和不定冠词，定冠词有the，不定冠词有 a，an。a用在辅音音素（即音标中的辅音而不是辅音字母）之前。如：a useful book.an用在元音音素（音标中的元音而不是指元音字母）之前。如：an examination. 一、不定冠词的用法 1.表示人或事物的某一类。如： A knife is a tool for cutting with. Mr.Smith is an engineer. 2.指某人或某物，但不具体说明何人或何物。如： A man is waiting for you. 3.表示“一个”，意为one。如： I have a mouth and a nose. 4.用在某些固定词组中。如： a little，a few，a lot，in a hurry，in a minute，after a while，have a cold，take a walk 二、定冠词的用法 1.特指的或上文已提到过的人或事物前。如： the photo of the boy I have a novel.The novel is interesting. 2.指谈话双方都知道的人或事物。如： Listen to the tape carefully. Open the door，please. 3.用在序数词、形容词最高级和表示方位的名词前。如： This is the biggest city in China I have ever visited. I was the first to come to school. 4.用在某些形容词之前，表示一类人。如： the poor， the young， the wounded， the sick 5.表示世界上独一无二的事物。如： the sun， the moon， the earth， the sky 6.表示江河、湖泊、海洋，海峡，山脉、群岛等之前。如： the Yellow River， the Changjiang River， the West Lake 7.用在报刊,杂志的名词之前。如： the China Daily， the Evening Paper， the Times 8.在姓氏复数形式前，表示一家人。如： the Greens， the Whites， the Turners 9.在乐器的名词前。如： The little girl likes to play the violin（piano，guitar，etc）. 10.在逢十的复数数词之前。如： in the 1970s 11.由普通名词构成的专有名词前。如： the People’ s Republic of China，the Great Wall，the Summer Palace 12.用来加强特指意义，表示“最适合的”、“最理想的”等意思。如： He is the man for the job. 13.在一些习惯用语中。如： in the morning，by the way，at the age of，in the end 三、不用冠词的情况 1.专有名词，不可数名词（抽象名词和物质名词）前。如： China，Tom，New York，love，air 2.名词前已有物主代词、指示代词、不定代词、名词所有格等限定时。如： my book，this factory，every person 3.在季节, 月份，星期，节日等名词之前。如： in winter，in May，on Tuesday，on National Day 4.泛指的复数名词，表示一类人或事物时。如： They are teachers.
