Steps 1、 Fight the shyness. If you havent already, then you need to do so. 2、 Get involved in conversations! You will never get better if you dont get involved. Its the only way to improve. Talk to someone you wouldnt usually talk to. 3、 Build self esteem. You will succeed if you develop more confidence, so recognize each small thing that you accomplish or are able to give to another. Realize that value has come from you and resides in you. Build this store of inner knowledge and make it stronger. 4、 Converse with people while carrying out daily activities: at school, work, the grocery store or at any other place. Communication is powerful and as you enter into more conversations, you will become more comfortable with yourself, your ideas and their place in the thinking of others. 5、 Be relaxed and casual around people. People like it when you are comfortable with yourself. You can help grow this feeling by building your sense of self worth, again, by recognizing the small, amazing things that you can give to others without them even realizing that you have done so. 6、 Gather the company of strong, well-intentioned people who support you or share your interests. If you are talking to people who act like open doors, you are lucky! You can talk to them about anything thats on your mind and they will most likely give you helpful advice! Most importantly, they will comfort you! 7、 Be kind to others. Never ever be mean to other people. Dont insult and spread gossip to people you dont trust. 8、 Reference social skills books and guides! There is a wealth of resources out there if you only look for it. 9、 Cultivate your sense of humor. People love to be around with humorous people. 10、 Choose specific goals and work towards them. Trying to improve your social skills is such a broad goal that it is hard to see progress towards it, and it is easy to get discouraged. Instead, pick a goal that is challenging but doable and specific. For instance, you mig
