* * Attain Select catheters do not have a braided shaft, and have thicker walls than previous catheters. Therefore, Attain Select catheters may have 2:1 or 3:1 torque transfers in comparison to a 1:1 torque transfer for braided shaft and thicker-walled catheters. The Attain Select catheter will respond and should not kink or “whip” when rotated several times. A greater force will be required to pass a 0.89 mm (0.035”) guide wire through the tip of the curved Attain Select catheters. The implanter may feel resistance as the guide wire passes through the tip of the Attain Select catheter. Smaller (0.36-0.46 mm / 0.014-0.018”) guide wires placed inside the Attain Select catheter will not completely straighten the catheter. Attain Select catheter tips will respond differently to guide wire insertion and will interact differently within the CS or cardiac vein. One may need to use different techniques for directing the Attain Select catheter tip into the cardiac veins.
