Difficulties and focuses: Grasp three kinds of reading skill and improve writing ability. Analysis of the students and books: 阅读和写作是英语学习中两个非常重要的部分，班上大部分的学生对阅读缺乏比较系统的阅读技巧并且没有养成良好的阅读习惯，所以在阅读过程中显得比较吃力并且在阅读过程中缺乏耐性。英语写作一向是英语学习的难点，很多学生所用的句式比较单一，不会运用所写的句型和短语来写作，所以专门挑的这节课，首先从学生熟悉的鱼翅汤作为导入，引人到割鱼鳍这一残忍的行为，在讲述割鱼鳍这一行为的时候解决本课的单词和短语，扫清学生的阅读障碍，接下来，从fast reading, careful reading和after reading三个部分专门训练学生的阅读技巧，让学生形成系统的答题技巧，提升学生的答题能力。最后，让学生以小组为单位运用本课所写的短语和句型讨论本课的话题——如何保护野生动物并作口头汇报，最终达成“树立学生保护环境意识”的情感目标，提高学生的英语写作能力。 Teaching procedures： Step: Lead in and pre-reading 1) Present photos of shark fin soup and shark fin. Purpose: 从学生熟悉的鱼翅汤作为导入，引出课文短语：a famous and expensive dish; popular in southern China，扫清阅读障碍，并且自然而然地引出鱼翅，为下面的割鱼鳍做铺垫。 2) Watch a video about how to get shark fins and present some photos. T—— How to get shark fin? Ss—— Fisrt, catcht the sharks. Second, cut off their fins. Next, throw the sharks into the ocean. Without fins, the sharks can no longer swims and slowly dies. Purpose: 学生通过观看短片，对割鱼翅的过程有一个大概的了解，接下来通过一张张图片再一次还原割鱼鳍的步骤，引出catch the shark, throw back into ocean等短语，最后展示一张鲨鱼被杀，整个海滩被鲜血染红的图片，让学生置身割鱼鳍这个残忍的情境中，接下来询问学生的感受，引出割鱼鳍是非常残忍的行为，不仅扫清阅读障碍，并且为下面的保护野生动物的写作做铺垫，唤起学生保护动物的意识。 Step II.
