With the development of economic globalization, Western culture is pouring into China, and Chinese culture is influenced by Western culture. This paper, based on the film Grandson from the United States, emphatically introduces the differences between Chinese and Western cultures from the aspects of language, diet and values, analyzes the factors leading to the differences between Chinese and Western cultures, and explores the effective integration of Chinese and Western culture, so as to avoid the misunderstanding caused by culture shock, and then effectively realize intercultural communication.
