Students will be able to use “where” questions to ask about the things in the rooms. 3. Students will be able to learn the use of a topic sentence for a passage. 4. Students will be able to fill in a chart with the information they get through asking and answering questions. Ⅱ. Key points for teaching 1. Practice “where” questions with the help of the pictures. Identify its single and plural forms. 2. Understand a passage by dividing it into parts. Get the main idea for each part. Ⅲ. Difficult points for teaching 1. Analyze the structure of a passage by finding out the topic sentences. 2. Work in pairs to know each other’s ideas about a tidy room and make a report with the notes. Ⅳ. Teaching Aids a movie clip about Minions, PowerPoint, pictures of the things in a room Ⅴ. Teaching Procedures 1. Warm-up: watch a movie clip about the Minions. What Teacher does What Students do (1) Show the movie clip. Ask students to think of words to describe the Minions. (1) Watch the movie clip and use proper adjectives to talk about the Minions. (2) Show several pictures from the movie to summarize: The Minions always make things in a mess. (2) Follow the hints from the pictures and the teacher. Learn a new word “always”. 2. Lead-in: Ask and answer “where” questions about a room. What Teacher does What Students do (1) Ask students if the Minions’ room will be tidy or not. (1) Learn the new word “tidy”. (2) Show the picture of a room. Help students to practice “where” questions one by one. (2) Ask and answer about the things they see in the pictures to review the words and structures they have learned. 3 Skimming: Find out which girl can help the Minions clean their room.
